Gluing or shrink-fitting of metallic bushings is a popular method for realigning shafts and drive elements. Both processes involve complex dimensionally accurate machining as a preparatory measure. A good, but time-consuming method - but only if there is still sufficient material thickness left. Otherwise it will be "tight" in the truest sense of the word. Special care must be taken when selecting the bushing material - the electropotential series (galvanic series) must be observed, otherwise there is a risk of fretting corrosion!
