Corrosion protection is one thing. At sea, however, sealing properties, impact protection, electrical insulation or slip resistance are often also required. These are requirements that a modern spray rubber coating can meet better than a conventional paint system.
If you want better results, you'll have to invest more in surface preparation and its application. Sandpaper and a brush just aren't enough anymore . . .
